Challenge

To come up with a concept for a productivity app. To create a simple user interface. To intergrate a database. To make a responsive app for different screen sizes.

Solution

The app’s concise name reflects a vision of personal growth, inviting users to envision becoming their best selves through its use. The app is designed to instill a positive perspective on goal-setting and productivity for girls aged 15-23. In crafting Chérie, I embraced the coquette aesthetic, a popular aesthetic amongst the target audience, focusing on a sweet, friendly and clean and user-friendly interface. The cherries incorporated into the logo and into the app complement the aesthetic. Utilizing distinct sections for different functionalities and a three colour colour palette, the design prioritizes ease of use and simplicity. The app deliberately employs an empowering tone and language, recognizing that tasks may sometimes seem overwhelming. The choice of the term “goal” over “task” is intentional, fostering a positive mindset around productivity. Additionally, there are elements incorporated that convey a supportive “you go girl” message, encouraging and uplifting users as they navigate their goals.
